Advisory Council Meetings - NACWG

The First Minister’s National Advisory Council on Women and Girls (NACWG) meets three times a year. This involves a full day meeting with a working dinner the night before. The Circle meets on the same day as the NACWG, in the morning. Meetings take place at various locations across Scotland.

The circle

The NACWG is supported by the Circle, a wider group of individuals, allies and organisations including women and girls and all people, regardless of their gender, who are supportive of the #GenerationEqual movement. With its continually growing membership, The Circle have been involved with the NACWG from the beginning.

NACWG Phase One

In 2016, The Scottish Government pledged to establish NACWG, to help drive forward action to tackle gender inequality. The objectives are to play a leading role in raising awareness of gender inequality in Scotland, act as a champion for positive progress and policies that are making a meaningful difference to the lives of women and girls & be a catalyst for change.
